FAQ

Common questions about rewires.

How long does a full rewire take?

A typical two-bed flat takes around 5 to 7 working days. A larger house can take 7 to 14 days. Commercial timelines depend on access and trading hours. We confirm the exact schedule in your written quote after the survey.

Do we need to move out during the work?

For a full rewire on a small property, most people prefer to stay elsewhere as power is off for sections of each day. For partial rewires and consumer unit upgrades you can usually stay in. We will tell you honestly what to expect at the survey.

What certification do you provide?

Every rewire is signed off with an Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC). For remedial work we issue an updated EICR. Where the work is notifiable under Part P we handle Building Control notification on your behalf.

Do you handle Building Control notification?

Yes. As NICEIC approved contractors we self-certify notifiable work and submit the notification, so you do not have to apply separately.

Do you do both commercial and domestic?

Yes. Both are core work for us. Three-phase distribution boards, emergency lighting and HMO compliance are handled in-house alongside our domestic rewires.

How soon can you start?

Site surveys are usually booked within a few working days. Once the quote is signed off, the start date depends on team availability and the scale of the job. The survey is the quickest way to get a firm date.
